The Board has organized a special pre-vote forum – a moderated panel of viewpoints from all sides taking your questions on REALTORS® of BC – for this Monday, November 28 at 10 am in the FVREB Theatre.
This is an opportunity for you to get any final questions answered and hear several different perspectives before casting a vote on December 6.
Over the last few weeks, at member events, office presentations and one-on-one meetings, members have asked us for the opportunity to hear from some of the experts involved in the creation of REALTORS® of BC, to hear BCREA’s perspective and to hear from other members who have decided to not support the proposal.
At this forum, Past President Jim McCaughan will moderate a panel consisting of representatives from a variety of perspectives:
- Yes, in support – Charles Wiebe, President, FVREB
- No, not in support – Paul Penner, Past President, FVREB
- No, not in support – TBA
- Provincial viewpoint – Robert Laing, CEO, BCREA
- Financial/accounting/merger expert – Scott McLean, Project manager and past partner with PwC
- Governance expert – Teresa Budd, Governance Lawyer, Watson Inc.
You can appreciate that getting everyone under the same roof at the same time one week before the vote had its challenges and we greatly appreciate the adjustments everyone made to their schedules to make this happen.
If you’re undecided or you know of a colleague who is undecided and may appreciate this open forum discussion, please attend. Note: seating is limited and we expect lots of interest! It’s important to register if you want a guaranteed seat.
On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, thank you in advance for your interest and participation. We look forward to seeing you there.
Charles Wiebe
President
