Changes are coming to the Residential Data Input Form (DIF) in mid-May, with updates designed to better reflect how REALTORS® market and describe properties in today’s evolving marketplace.
In collaboration with FVREB, BCNREB, CADREB, and GVR, these updates are based directly on member feedback. Moving forward, rather than making infrequent, large-scale revisions, smaller updates will be introduced more regularly, allowing the form to stay current and more responsive to your day-to-day needs.
What’s Changing
This first set of updates includes a mix of region-specific enhancements, particularly for the Whistler market—as well as broader improvements that will benefit all users. Updates will apply to Residential Attached, Residential Detached, and Residential Multi-Family listings.
Key changes include:
Style of Home – two new options added to the existing field #130 on page one of the DIF.
- Top Floor Unit (requested by members from all over the lower mainland)
- Chalet
Title to Land – two new options added to the existing field #132 on page one.
- Quarter Share (Whistler-centric)
- Bare Land Strata (requested by members from all over the lower mainland)
Is this a Pre-Sale? – new optional field #147 added to page one.
Parking Places Covered – existing field #240 on page two is now mandatory to complete.
Parking Places Total – existing field #242 on page two is now mandatory to complete.
Distance to Ski Hill / Lift – new optional field #251 added to page three.
Amenities – two new options added to the existing field #330 on page three, maximum number to select increased from ten to twelve.
- Pickle Ball Court
- Ski In/Ski Out
Bylaw Restrictions – three new options added to existing field #524 on page six, maximum number to select increased from four to seven.
- Phase 1 properties (Whistler-centric)
- Phase 2 properties (Whistler-centric)
- Employee Restricted (Whistler-centric)
What This Means for REALTORS®
These updates are intended to improve listing accuracy, enhance searchability for buyers, and better reflect property types and features across different markets.
Timing
The updated DIF will be implemented in Paragon® and made available on WEBForms® in mid-May. Members will be notified once the exact launch date is confirmed.
Staying up to date with these changes will help ensure your listings are complete, compliant, and positioned effectively in the marketplace.
