The federal government is consulting with Canadians as part of its commitment to prepare a National Housing Strategy by fall 2016. At a meeting in June, federal, provincial and territorial housing ministers agreed to this long-term vision to meet the housing needs of Canadians:
All Canadians have access to housing that meets their needs and that they can afford. Housing is the cornerstone of building sustainable, inclusive communities and a strong Canadian economy where we can prosper and thrive.
CREA has already participated in a roundtable discussion on the strategy and will continue to participate in future meetings in the fall and send in a written submission on behalf of REALTORS®.
