Beers & By-laws Townhall on February 5

Join President John Barbisan and President-Elect / Chair of the Governance Committee Darin Germyn for a pre-AGM Townhall open to all members. Swing by the Board on Tuesday, February 5 for drinks, appetizers and a discussion on the proposed By-law changes that will be voted on at our upcoming Annual General Meeting.

This year, the Board of Directors are asking members to consider the following changes to our by-laws:

  • Change the name of the Business Practices Committee to the Professional Conduct Committee
  • Strengthen our standards for membership qualification
  • Allow the Commercial Division to disband
  • Allow the Past President to be exempt from the 3-person-per-firm rule
  • Limit the term of office for Vice President to 1 year and Directors to 6 years consecutively

The format will be a short presentation followed by Q&A and a discussion period, where you can provide your feedback and ask questions relating to the proposed changes.
