Following our NewsReal article “Are You Allowed to Say That? Advertising Claims That Could Cost You Thousands”, members are advised that misleading and false advertising claims don’t just violate provincial rules and regulations, but could also be subject to potential investigation and legal action under the federal Competition Act.
To assist members with training materials that will help them better understand their obligations under the Competition Act, the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has created this video, available on the CREA Learning Hub.
The video explains what is considered misleading advertising, examples of false or misleading advertising and when and why to use disclaimers.
For more information, visit the Competition page on the CREA Learning Hub.
