Tech Tip: How to resize a picture so it meets Paragon’s® resolution requirements

When you’re uploading a property image to Paragon®, you may get the following error message:

This can happen if your image does not meet the minimum resolution requirements (640 X 480 pixels). Here is a possible solution for Windows and Mac users.

Windows users:

  1. Right-click on your file in Windows Explorer and select Open with Paint.

2. Click on Resize in the list of options at the top of your window and select Pixels.

3. The minimum requirement for an uploaded image in Paragon® is 640 (Horizontal) X 480 (Vertical) pixels. Enter 500 in Vertical and the horizontal value will automatically be adjusted. Make sure the Horizontal number is greater than 640 pixels. Enter these values in the fields as shown below.

4. Click OK and the picture will be resized and at a high enough resolution to be uploaded to Paragon®. But before you try again, you need to save it.

5. Click on the diskette icon located in the top left corner (in purple) as shown in the picture below (or go to File > Save):

6. Close the file and you are now ready to upload the image to Paragon®.

Note: If the quality of your picture is not good after this fix, you will need to either take a higher quality picture or ask a professional photographer to take one for you. An amazing property deserves an amazing picture!

Mac users:

  1. Double click on picture and it will open in an appropriate application.
  2. Select the Show Toolbar icon and click on the Adjust size button as shown in the picture below.

3. This will open a new window where you need to adjust pixel size. Make sure pixels is selected as shown in the picture below.

After selecting pixels, the box will look like the one below. Note: Minimum requirement for Width is 640 and Height is 480.

The next step is you need to update the Width and Height of the image so it can be uploaded to Paragon®.

4. Update the Height to 500 and make sure the width is greater than 640 pixels, then click OK.

5. Close the image file and your picture is ready to be uploaded to Paragon®.
