REALTORS® are expected to look out for their clients’ best interests. That means protecting their personal information and being transparent about how it could be used in the future. That’s why BCREA updated the Privacy Notice and Consent form.
The updated form makes it easier for Realtors to disclose how they could use their clients’ personal information in the future and obtain their permission.

To support Realtors and brokers in learning about the new form and how it could be used, BCREA will release two new resources:
- a webinar for Managing Brokers; and
- a short video tutorial for Realtors.
Webinar for Managing Brokers now available:
The webinar for Managing Brokers was held on Thursday, August 1. This included:
- an overview on working with the Privacy Notice and Consent form; and
- a refresher on the requirements as a Managing Broker under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Video tutorial for Realtors:
BCREA is also developing a short video tutorial to support Realtors in working with the Privacy Notice and Consent form. There will be an explanation of how to use the revised form to ensure clients’ personal information is protected. This will be circulated via email the week of August 19.
