What we learned from you

In last week’s RESPECT campaign survey, we asked you about the 5 Guiding Principles of Professionalism.  From the 262 members who participated we learned that two of the five guiding principles were equally recognizable — Clients come first and Reflect a high standard. The next most familiar principle was Communicate clearly followed by Be an industry expert.

The least familiar to all of you was the Honour your community principle.  Perhaps that is understandable because the meaning of that fifth principle suggests a broader scope than the other four.  Our campaign will be publishing some examples of how Realtors honour their communities in the coming weeks.

You also told us very emphatically (97% of respondents) that Fraser Valley Realtors should know and practice the board’s 5 Guiding Principles of Professionalism. But when we asked you how well you thought Realtors were following those five guiding principles, you gave other Realtors just over 5 out of 10 rating. Interestingly, you felt you yourself were doing much better, giving yourselves an average 9 out of 10!

Thanks so much for participating in the survey and as promised we randomly drew three names from the 262 members who participated.

The winners are: Val Berg of MacDonald Realty, Chris (Marc) Barnes of Little Oak Realty Mission and Jag Sidhu of Little Oak Realty, Surrey. Congratulations you three! You’ll soon be receiving a $50 gift card to a retailer of your choice.
