Google Mail reported that many @Gmail.com email users experienced an outage on December 15 that caused bounce-back messages to be issued to senders who are trying to reach them, incorrectly stating that the email address does not exist, when in fact it does.
When Paragon® received these incorrect bounce-back messages yesterday, it changed the associated @Gmail.com email addresses to “opt-out” of receiving further emails.
The Paragon® team at Black Knight is working to resolve the issue so that the @Gmail.com email addresses that were impacted by the Google Mail outage automatically “opt-in” to receiving emails again.
How to trigger an “opt-in” link to be sent to a client
In the meantime, as Black Knight works to create an automated solution, you can send a link to any of your contacts (with an @Gmail.com or other email address) who show as “opt-out” of receiving email from Paragon®, by following these steps:
- Go to: http://p80.paragonrels.com/paragonsubscriptions/optin.aspx.
- Enter the email address you want to send an “opt-in” link to.
- Hit “Send,” and your contact will receive an “opt-in” link in an email message.
- Your contact will then have 72 hours to open the email message they receive and click on the “opt-in” link to confirm they would like to once again receive messages from Paragon®.
How to confirm if an email address in Paragon® has “opted-out” of receiving emails
You can find out which of the email addresses in Paragon® are “opted-out” of receiving emails by clicking on the Contacts tab in Paragon®. Any email addresses that have “opted-out” have a red exclamation mark (!).
