The Lower Mainland’s largest and longest running blanket drive kicks off on Monday, November 15, and will run until November 22!
Now in its 27th year, the blanket drive is a collaboration among the Lower Mainland’s three real estate boards: the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB), the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV), and the Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board (CADREB). Last year, volunteers and members helped raise $15,540.84 for 26 Fraser Valley-area charities that help people who are recovering from drug and domestic abuse, struggling to feed their families, living in shelters and other inadequate housing, and lacking in warmth and comfort.
This year, the REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive will combine its traditional collection and distribution of warm clothes and blankets with an online fundraiser for our partner charities.
POSTERS and COLLECTION BAGS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR PICK-UP AT THE BOARD OFFICE! If you would like to arrange to have bags and posters sent by courier, please call Amar Chahal at 604 930 7600, or email amar.chahal@fvreb.bc.ca.
And remember to send in your photos, which may be used for sharing in both social and traditional media, to promote the #realtorscareblanketdrive. Please submit photos to Fiona Youatt: fyouatt@rebgv.org.
Here’s how to donate online
- Go to the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board’s Giving Group page.
- Click on the blue Give button in the top right corner of the page.
- Fill out the form that appears to indicate how much you would like to give.
- In the box that says, “For Group (optional),” you do not need to type anything.
- Click Continue.
- Provide your contact information, including an email for your tax receipt. Note: If you are making a donation on behalf of your brokerage, please include your brokerage’s name, contact information and use a company credit card. Otherwise, include your own information.
- Be sure to complete all the steps so you get a “thank you” at the end and you are done!
You do not need to create a new Charitable Impact account in order to donate to the Blanket Drive.
Donations of $5 or more will receive a tax receipt from Charitable Impact, a registered Canadian charity. All funds (less credit card processing fees) will be distributed to our Blanket Drive charities at the end of the campaign.
Give and get rewarded!
Just like last year’s campaign, donors will earn different levels of recognition, depending on how much they give. If you donate $25 and up, you will receive a digital badge that you can proudly share in your email signature and social media accounts. We will also be including your name on a donations list featured on our websites and social media channels.

In celebration of this centennial year, the Blanket Drive presents a unique opportunity to reflect on the Board’s long legacy of building and caring for the community. As we all acknowledge this most successful year for the sector, please consider making a $100 Builder donation in commemoration of FVREB’s 100th anniversary – one hundred years of playing an integral role in building the communities where we work, live and play. With the cold season soon upon us, your donations will give comfort to people in need.
