Congratulations to all 1,000 members who participated in this year’s Annual General Meeting, whether in-person, remotely or by proxy. It was the highest turnout ever for an FVREB AGM!
The results on the two Special Resolutions brought to this year’s AGM are:
Resolution #1 – Addition of up to one Public Director to the Board – DEFEATED
Proposed Bylaw amendment to allow the appointment of up to one Public Director, a qualified individual who is not a REALTOR® or FVREB member (see eMemo #4365 for detailed description).
The special resolution was not approved, receiving 54.9% of votes in favour, which fell short of the two-thirds (66.67%) majority required.
Resolution #2 – Decrease Voting Thresholds for Removal of Officers/CEO – DEFEATED
Proposed that the Bylaw for the removal of officers be amended to reduce the threshold from 3/4 to 2/3. (see eMemo #4365 for detailed description).
The special resolution was not approved, receiving 64.8% of votes in favour, which fell short of the two-thirds (66.67%) majority required.
