The 2023 FVREB Golf Tournament held on September 7 and hosted by FVREB and its charitable arm, the Fraser Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation (FVRCF), was a swinging success! Under mostly clear skies and immaculate course conditions, Hazelmere Golf Course echoed with the clinks of iron as 144 golfers teed off for a great cause.
For the first time in three years, FVREB members, their families and friends, and their clients returned to the golf course. An incredible record total of $35,000 was raised for the FVRCF in supporting charities that help improve the lives of at-risk youth – all in the name of REALTORS®.
Elevating the golf tournament
FVREB Chair Narinder Bains said that while the FVREB Golf Tournament has been running annually for more than 35 years prior to the pandemic, teaming up with the FVRCF elevated the event by adding a fundraising component. He acknowledged the beautiful origin story of the FVRCF and the foresight of its founders, who were also FVREB past presidents. “Through this fundraiser, we are collectively adding to the legacy they started many years ago,” he said.
Big smiles, big swings, and a whole lot of giving
In addition to enjoying a sunny day on the links, golfers participated in mini games like putting and chipping contests and speed hole. The Golf Ball Cannon was a huge success.

Arguably, the most memorable moments of the 2023 FVREB Golf Tournament were not on the golf course. Members enjoyed networking and sharing laughter with colleagues and other golfers. Lunch was great; dinner was even better. The live auction, which featured items ranging from a whiskey basket to Air B&B accommodation to two Air Canada tickets, all donated by local businesses, was also a hit.
We’re overwhelmed by the support and generosity of the REALTOR® community and local businesses. Thanks to the Golf Committee members, organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and players who made this tournament possible.
We can’t wait for next year. Those looking to join in the fun can start perfecting their swings. Perhaps a lucky golfer can sink an ace in the hole-in-one contest next time.
