Fraser Valley REALTORS Charitable Foundation announced to media

Members who attended the Vacant Land Special General Meeting on September 26, likely noticed how the board jumped on the opportunity to issue a press release announcing the results to the media and the public the following day.

Although the Fraser Valley REALTORS Charitable Foundation is in its infancy and many details have yet to be worked out, the Board of Directors wanted to seize the opportunity to share positive news about our members and the good they do for their communities in the context of an avalanche of negative coverage that REALTORS® in the Lower Mainland have faced over the last few months.

Charles Wiebe, Board president, observed, “I’ve spoken to so many colleagues over the last while and we’re all so disheartened and frustrated by how our industry has been portrayed this year.

“We recognize that the public’s confidence in our industry has been shaken and it’s for this reason, it’s important that our clients, the general public and politicians see that the majority of REALTORS® are thoughtful, caring and conscientious citizens. When we have good news, we have a responsibility to share it.”

The release was issued to multiple media outlets, including social media. Feel free to share it or like it on the Board’s Facebook page. Every little bit helps!
