Today’s eMemo contains the following updates:
- Making the most of virtual open houses
The announcement of BC’s Restart Plan last week brought with it much excitement for all of us, as we look forward with hope to the gradual lifting of restrictions, and the regaining of many freedoms we all remember from pre-pandemic days.
But are we back to business as usual?
The short answer: We’re not there – yet.
Now, more than ever, is the time to hold steady to COVID-19 safety protocols. Now is the time to keep our eyes on the prize! With the finish line in clear sight, our members have unique opportunities to make positive and meaningful impacts in the communities where we live and work. What better way to do this than to lead by example while protecting your clients’ interests? During these vital times of change, actively observing all safety protocols, while advising your clients to do the same, demonstrates leadership and community building.
With open houses still off the table, members are free to hold showings “by appointment only.”
Realtors® provide a non-health related essential service and must continue to follow BCREA guidelines for Safer Showings During the COVID-19 Pandemic, as well as BCREA protocols set out in the COVID-19 Safe Practices Checklist for Managing Brokers.
Make the most of virtual open houses by posting as many images as possible on Paragon, up to a generous maximum of 40. Utilizing tech tools to streamline the research, discovery and filtering process, and helping buyers become more “qualified” are all ways that you can showcase your expertise and demonstrate care for your clients. Your knowledge of the local areas, market conditions, financing updates, and industry trends is what makes you invaluable to homebuyers and sellers. The landscape is changing. Offers with subjects are coming back and new stress test rules came into effect today.
Thank you to our members for your patience and leadership as we navigate what we hope will be the home stretch, in helping to put the pandemic behind us. Let’s all do our part as we look ahead to creating a new normal together.
We will share updates and new developments with you soon, as second doses of the vaccine are expected to be completed earlier than initially planned. In the meantime, should you require additional guidance, please contact your managing broker or the Board office.
Have a good week and stay safe.
