Board of Directors 2020: Run for it!

The Fraser Valley Real Estate Board depends on its members to serve as strong leaders who have the vision, dedication, strong ethics and demonstrated accomplishment in their professional life to contribute to the success of our Board and its members.

The Board’s Nominating Committee, which recruits, interviews and recommends candidates, is urging members who may be interested in serving on the Board of Directors, to contact them in preparation for the upcoming Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, February 19, 2020.

Members are also invited to an Information and Networking Session scheduled for November 19 at 2 pm in the Board Theatre to discuss Board elections, what to expect and tips from some of our former directors.

The Nominating Committee has been making an effort to break down the barriers that may prevent good candidates running for a place on the Board and so for the first time this year the following changes have been incorporated:

  • the time commitment to serve on the Board has been reduced – there are now fewer meetings to attend
  • being on the Board now offers broader strategic opportunities for you to make a real difference
  • more training and coaching opportunities provided to new directors that can be a personal benefit
