The Fraser Valley real estate community is proud to recognize Chris Shields of Macdonald Realty as the 2026 John Armeneau Professional of the Year.
For more than 20 years, Chris has helped shape organized real estate through steady leadership and an unwavering commitment to professionalism. A long-serving Director of the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and Chair of multiple committees, he has consistently championed strong governance and higher standards. For nine years, he also taught New Member Orientation, mentoring hundreds of REALTORS® and setting the tone for professionalism from day one.
Chris believes real estate is about people — a principle reflected in his community involvement and his support of the Fraser Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation. When he commits to a cause, he commits fully. During the Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser for the Sources Foundation, he became a top fundraiser, rallying support with characteristic energy and creativity.
Known for his brightly coloured shirts and unmistakable smile, Chris is widely respected for his integrity, mentorship, and ability to elevate those around him.
“It is an absolute honour and privilege to be included among the ranks of John Armeneau recipients who have come before me,” said Chris Shields, Chair of the BC Real Estate Association. “I can’t express how humbling it is to be recognized this way. And at the same time, it is such a powerful inspiration to continue to grow and contribute to our profession and community. Thank you, from all my heart Fraser Valley Board!”
Chris Shields exemplifies the essence of the John Armeneau Award — professionalism, leadership, and a deep commitment to community. Congratulations, Chris, on this well-deserved honour.
