At its Annual General Meeting on May 26, 2025, the Fraser Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation (FVRCF) welcomed a new slate of Directors who will carry forward its mission to support at-risk youth across the region with compassion, dedication, and action.
David Herman of RE/MAX 2000 (Surrey) has stepped into the role of Chair, bringing decades of real estate leadership and a heart for service. David is no stranger to governance, having previously served as Chair of FVREB and BCREA, and as Director with CREA, but his passion for youth and giving back is what drives his commitment to the Foundation.
“It’s an incredible honour to step into this role and carry forward the vision our founding Directors brought to life,” said Herman. “As REALTORS®, we don’t just help people find homes — we help build communities. Through this Foundation, we have the opportunity to shape brighter futures for young people across the Fraser Valley, and I’m proud to be part of that work.”
Joining the Foundation are three new Directors:
- Michael Trites, Royal LePage Northstar Realty (Surrey)
- Sadaf Baig, Woodhouse Realty (Surrey)
- Scott McGihon, Sutton Group-West Coast Realty (Abbotsford)
Their experience, insight, and deep community connections bring new energy to the Board at a pivotal time. They join current FVRCF Directors Tom Osterberg (Lighthouse Realty), Karen Conyers (Sotheby’s Realty Canada), Aseem Ghadiali, Jane Adams, and Rory Morgan.
These new Directors follow in the footsteps of the Foundation’s retiring founding Board members, whose efforts transformed an idea into a thriving charitable organization:
- John Barbisan, Sutton Premier Realty (Surrey)
- Charles Wiebe, RE/MAX Commercial Advantage (Abbotsford)
- Gopal Sahota, eXp Realty (Surrey)

Their commitment created lasting change — and the legacy of that leadership is felt in every dollar distributed and every young life uplifted.
In 2025, FVRCF will grant more than $400,000 to programs serving at-risk youth across the Fraser Valley. This includes the Foundation’s signature bursary program, offering $1,000 bursaries to every public and alternative high school in the region.
These funds are more than numbers — they represent chances. Chances for young people to stay in school, access support, and believe in their future.
“None of this would be possible without the support of Fraser Valley REALTORS®. You are the heart of this Foundation — your donations, event participation, and advocacy allow us to keep saying “yes” to young people in need.” said Herman.
