Hi, Richard Robbins here. The world of real estate is a highly competative place. Every week there are new agents joining the industry and offering their services. It can, at times, feel difficult to set yourself apart from your peers. Although we know that all Realtors are unique, your clients may not. When people choose to work with you they’re not buying just your services as much as they’re buying who you are. They’re buying into the concept of you and your personal brand, after all, the services can be quite similar but how they are delivered is what is different.

When you take the time to develop your personal brand it’s important to consider the whole picture. Everything you do says something about who you are, from the way you answer the phone, to the clothes that you wear, to the attitude that you bring to work. Every little detail counts. It’s from your website, to your business cards, to your tweets, to what you put on Facebook. And when it’s personal branding like it is for Realtors, it’s essential to make sure the details are aligned.

Branding is more than just your image, it extends to the words that you choose and the manner in which you conduct your business. The three ideas for developing a winning brand include:

  1. Choosing to reflect the highest standards in every aspect of your business
  2. Always acting professionally and
  3. Exercising total integrity

Who you choose to be everyday is the most powerful asset you bring as an agent.
