We’re kicking it up a notch on our Centennial celebrations!

By Shafiq Jamal

It’s not every day that one turns a 100, so celebrating a Centennial shouldn’t be something to sneeze at…

With that in mind, we thought it was time to kick it up a notch and take some more proactive steps to show your clients – the homebuying and selling publics – why you matter, and why you can help them fill the GAP – that’s Guide, Advise and Protect them through one of the most significant purchases and/or investments in their lifetimes.

So, we went back to the drawing board and came up with (drum roll please!!), the idea of creating a micro-site which can be found here. We also came up with the idea of a radio and television awareness and information building campaign to show the public, particularly in the Fraser Valley, why realtors matter and the important role you play in building communities.

Why a microsite? Well, something that has really been made clear during the pandemic, is that we are now more than ever, living in a digital world. One where we must also be ever conscious about our environmental footprint. And since the coffee table book appears to be going the way of the dodo, it seemed appropriate to leave our mark via a digital footprint. Perhaps we should sell some NFT’s, eh?? 😊

The fact of the matter is, as a realtor, you work hard – damn hard – to ensure your clients get not only the best service, but benefit from every ounce of your knowledge, your commitment, your drive, and your passion.

As you can see from our second Centennial video, many of our members share some of their stories about the lengths and depths they have gone, and continue to go to, to ensure the client’s expectations are exceeded. In many circles, you are referred to as miracle workers!

Well, you might say, so what? Who cares?

WE care, we need to ensure your client care, and you should care too. It’s important to celebrate one’s wins in life, as it is for us to learn from our mistakes, by lifting ourselves up off the floor, dusting ourselves and stepping back into action, albeit with the learnings top of our minds.

The micro-site’s purpose is to help with celebrating YOU – please take the time to visit it, and feel free to share it with your clients. Add it to your email signatures and remember to visit the site often as we will continue to populate it and curate it with content on a regular basis.

Similarly, we partnered with BC’s leading news and information providers, the Corus network, to launch a co-ordinated and proactive information and awareness campaign on CKNW radio as well as Global TV channels, to engage your clients and help them build trust with you.

The campaign runs from March 21 to May 8. And, with Dr. Henry relaxing the mask wearing rules, the timing could not be more perfect to help raise awareness of the importance of realtors, particularly as people will feel freer to go about their daily lives, and also the fact that we are entering the Spring – a time when the market is generally busy for you (though of course, those traditional rules seem to have been flipped…😊 Regardless, you are and will be busy for some time to come!)

So, take the time to pat yourself on the back for a minute or two. Why not when the fact of the matter is that your clients will be asking you, not what you’ve done for them lately, but rather, what will you be doing for them next… 😊
