As first advised in eMemo #4349, BCFSA has provided members with an update on the suspension of the licenses of Lighthouse Realty Ltd. (Fraser Valley Real Estate Board) and Jovi Realty (Greater Vancouver REALTORS®).
On April 2, 2026, the BC Supreme Court appointed D. Manning & Associates Inc. as a receiver to take control of the brokerages’ frozen trust accounts. The receiver is an independent, court-supervised third party responsible for reviewing, reconciling, and distributing trust funds in accordance with legal requirements.
This action follows BCFSA’s earlier freeze orders, issued due to serious concerns identified during an investigation into the handling of trust funds. The affected accounts may include client monies such as rental income, security deposits, and commissions.
The receiver will contact impacted parties directly with next steps.
In the interim, members working with affected clients should direct operational or tenancy-related inquiries to the appropriate property manager or brokerage contact, and advise clients to monitor communications from the receiver.
