The explosive growth of social media over recent years has made it clear that it has become an integral part of our lives. We use it to keep up to date on world events and local news and communicate with family and friends, among other things. Not-for-profits, such as the Fraser Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation (FVRCF), primarily use social media for fundraisers, campaigns, awareness, advocacy, and recruitment of volunteers.
But how does the FVRCF use it to show impact and become a force for good? Here’s how:
1. Tell powerful and evocative stories
Good storytelling that adds value will make a brand’s mission statement clear. FVRCF believes that the best way to let people know of their impact is through sharing real-life stories of adversity, transformation, and hope. Application deadline for the first round of giving is tomorrow, March 17, 2023. When the Foundation starts granting funds to worthy charities, expect to hear and see true stories of human impact for Fraser Valley youth.
Check out the Foundation’s origin story video below.
2. Use data visualization
Infographics are not only popular in social media; they are also great at highlighting data in a visually appealing way. This Instagram post captures the three focus areas as the Foundation fulfills its mission, working with partner charities.

3. Promote action to make a difference
Community is at the core of the Foundation, and it encourages Fraser Valley Realtors and the general public to get involved with the cause. Whenever appropriate, the Foundation’s social media posts include calls-to-action such as donate, volunteer, and apply for a grant. Check out some of the LinkedIn and Facebook posts below.

Are you already following FVRCF on social media? If not, what are you waiting for? You’ll be the first to hear about events, volunteer opportunities, grant application updates, and more! Plus, you’ll be a proud ally of Fraser Valley Realtors, changing the lives of at-risk youth in the Fraser Valley.
