FVREB’s Stakeholder and Government Relations Committee (SGRC) continues to build on the momentum generated at CREA’s Political Action Committee (PAC) Days through active advocacy and policy leadership. Central to this work is the Committee’s report, Building Faster, Smarter, which outlines nine practical policy recommendations to help deliver housing more quickly, sustainably, and affordably. Read the report here.
In November 2025, SGRC members met with the Honourable MP Tako Van Popta at his Langley Township–Fraser Heights constituency office to discuss local housing challenges. MP Van Popta reviewed FVREB’s market statistics and engaged in a detailed discussion on the report, later visiting Intelligent City to see prefabricated and modular construction in action.
The Committee continues to advance these conversations, with an upcoming meeting scheduled with the Honourable MP Randeep Sarai (Surrey Centre) and efforts underway to meet with the Honourable MP Brad Vis (Mission–Matsqui–Abbotsford).
SGRC members also participated in key stakeholder events hosted by the Surrey White Rock Board of Trade, including discussions with Minister of Industry Mélanie Joly on the 2025 Federal Budget and with TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn on planned investments in Bus Rapid Transit to improve regional mobility.

Through ongoing engagement with elected officials and industry partners, SGRC continues to advocate on behalf of FVREB members and contribute to policy discussions on housing and infrastructure in the Fraser Valley.
Stay tuned for regular future updates on the work of the SGRC. If you have any questions pertaining to the work of the SGRC, please feel free to contact Shafiq, our Stakeholder & GR Affairs Facilitator, at 778-986-5600, or via email at: shafiq.jamal@fvreb.bc.ca.
