Help someone stay warm this winter

It’s time to clean your closets out – the REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive starts next week!

Over 30 Fraser Valley REALTORS® are volunteering this year for the 23rd annual REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive.

They will be connecting with over 40 local brokerages acting as drop-off locations to provide promotional materials and confirm they will be picking up donations from their offices Tuesday, November 14 to Tuesday, November 21.

As always, your support – through donations or just by spreading the word – is always appreciated. The more people who know about the Drive, the more donations we receive and people we can help.

We’ve also been lucky to receive some local media coverage prior to the start of the Drive which features some of our wonderful volunteers:

Surrey realtors want you to ‘clean out your closets’ for homeless – The Surrey Now-Leader

Realtors Care Blanket Drive begins Nov. 14 – The Langley Times

We’re looking for:

  • gently used or new blankets or sleeping bags
  • hoodies, coats and other warm clothing
  • hats, gloves, scarves
  • new socks and underwear
  • plastic ponchos or other waterproof clothing

Pick up an official Blanket Drive bag from one of the drop-off locations and fill it up or use a garbage bag. It’s what’s inside that counts! The donations will be sorted and distributed to local charities in each Fraser Valley community.

“The annual Realtor drive continues to be tremendously important in helping us stock up our supplies for the long, cold, winter months. We see the needs in our programs grow every year so we are very grateful for the support we receive through your blanket drive,” says Angie Paulsen, Clothing Coordinator, NightShift Street Ministries.
