The next opportunity to hear directly from your Board is on Thursday, February 11 from 9:30 to 11:15 am. The last one is scheduled for Thursday, February 25.
The meetings are an opportunity for you to hear from Board President Chris Shields and others on the Board’s activities and to provide feedback on proposed by-law amendment topics in advance of the Annual General Meeting on March 11.
Please note that between 8:30 and 9:45, which we are calling the registration phase, you will have the chance to ensure you are registered to vote. However, if you join the meeting at 9:45 or thereafter, you will be able to watch and view the Triple M but you will NOT be able to vote on any of the proposed by-law amendments. As another reminder, the votes at the Triple M’s are non-binding. The votes at the AGM will be binding.
We appreciate your understanding on this matter, as we need to ensure that on the back-end, our systems are prepared for the voting, and for this to take place, we cannot keep the registration phase open indefinitely.
What’s new for the Triple M on February 11:
We are continuing to make improvements to the content and delivery of our virtual events to enhance members’ experience.
The meetings are also an opportunity to learn about the livestream and voting technology that we will be used during the AGM on March 11:
We strongly encourage you to join a Triple M (if you haven’t already) so you can become familiar with our FVREB Portal and the Simply Voting tool which will again be used to assist eligible members with voting in the upcoming AGM on March 11.
Given the nature of virtual meetings, the Board will not be able to authenticate proxies during the upcoming AGM, so it is very important that members become comfortable with the technology in advance of the meeting.
Practice voting session demos available next week:
We have scheduled two 30-minute sessions next week on Tuesday, February 9 from 9 to 9:30 am and from 1 to 1:30 pm so you can practice voting in advance of the Morning Member Meetings and the AGM. As a reminder, votes during our Triple M’s will be non-binding but they do give our Governance Committee members guidance when they’re drafting the By-Law resolutions for the AGM. Votes during the AGM on March 11 will be binding. To sign up for a practice voting session, visit our TLC Calendar.
New FAQs on the FVREB Portal now available:
If you have technical questions related to the FVREB Portal we are using for the Triple M’s and the AGM, we have answers. The IT team at the Board has prepared a list of members’ Frequently Asked Questions related to logging in, voting, and the user interface. You can find it on our Morning Member Meeting page on REALTOR Link®.
Tips to ensure you can vote during a meeting:
Since a few members during the last Triple M said they couldn’t vote, we asked the IT team at the Board to share some tips with members.
