Listings now upload hourly to REALTOR.ca

In July, the Board announced that new listings and changes would be uploaded to REALTOR.ca every two hours instead of once a day. Now, new listings and changes you make to listings will be uploaded even more frequently moving to an hourly schedule.

The decision to increase the frequency of uploads has been driven by members and their clients, who want their listings available on REALTOR.ca at the same time as other third-party websites (Real Estate Weekly, Zolo) and personal real estate website providers (RealtyNinja, MyRealPage).

What does that mean for you?

If your listing is posted between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM, it will now appear on REALTOR.ca within the next hour. With this new expedited process, you will need to ensure that your Data Input Form is filled in accurately as there will be less time to make adjustments on the fly.

If the information attached to your listing on REALTOR.ca needs to be updated, you have two options:

  1. If you have access to Agent Modify, you can fix any non-contractual fields immediately on Paragon. These changes will be sent to REALTOR.ca with the next upload. If you’d like to get set-up with Agent Modify, please complete an Agent Modify Access Authorization form which can be located on WEBForms®.
  2. Alternatively, you can email your changes to mlschanges@fvreb.bc.ca and the MLS® department will make them for you on Paragon.

You will also need to ensure that your photos have been added to the listing as soon as possible so that they are included with the more frequent updates. The fastest way to do it is by uploading photos directly within Paragon, and you can view a guide on how to do that here.

What does this mean for your clients?

Only good things! If they have listed their home with you, it will now appear on REALTOR.ca much sooner – no more waiting at REALTOR.ca and clicking refresh to see when their listing pops up! Plus, potential buyers have a chance to look at it earlier than before.
