Leading Life with Courage: FVREB’s New COO, Stephanie Roy

Raised by illustrious parents — an award-winning candy salesman and a registered nurse and health advocate — it’s no surprise Stephanie Roy has both a sunny disposition and a true sense of purpose in serving her community.

Both traits obvious when she walked through the doors of the FVREB last month, joining the Board as the new Chief Operating Officer, following a Canada-wide search.

Stephanie brings a career of service to the non-profit sector, including leadership positions at the Certified Management Accountants of New Brunswick, the Canadian Security Association and most recently the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC.

“I have come to learn that the FVREB is a relentless pioneer, innovator, and disruptor locally, provincially and nationally, on behalf of its diverse and growing membership in the Fraser Valley,” she said. “I am thrilled to be part of the team that will keep the momentum going.”

Stephanie’s vision for Board operations includes supporting the ongoing efforts to build strong ties with partner real estate boards, BCREA, CREA and BCFSA and all levels of government to advance advocacy work and promote the credibility, reputation, and professionalism of REALTORS®, while representing the interests of the membership.

“I know that if we work collaboratively, with integrity, and with a long-term vision, we will inspire confidence and excellence in each other to make the FVREB one of the best real estate associations in the country — one that sets the standard for others.”

In her free time, you can find Stephanie making the most of BC’s beautiful landscapes — hiking, snowboarding, paddleboarding and camping, often with her three-year old Golden Retriever, Ollie, by her side.

“Every trip around the sun I like to do something that makes me feel alive, takes me outside of my comfort zone, and tests my abilities and limits – I like to lead my life with courage and see what I’m capable of.” she said.

She has taken a kiteboarding crash course, zipped up and down Howe Sound on a jet ski, completed three half-marathons and braved Toronto’s thrilling CN Tower EdgeWalk.

With the addition of Stephanie to the team, the FVREB is enthusiastic about the transformative innovation and growth which will propel our vision forward.
