FVREB’s Retirement Working Group Introduces 25-Year Recognition

Fraser Valley Real Estate Board was founded in 1921 for the purpose of establishing standards of business practice and to elevate the industry in the eyes of the public. Over the past 100+ years, members of the FVREB have chosen Real Estate as their career path.

As professionals in the industry, members interact with each other on regular basis to transact in the business, building strong and lasting connections with each other, and within the community. Long-term members have gained immeasurable and deep insight in the business and are well-positioned to provide a wealth of knowledge to the benefit of their peers.

In recognition of member retirees with 25 years of service, a gift will be presented to acknowledge those who have dedicated themselves to the real estate profession. To honour each retiree, the etched glass memento will display the member’s name and years of service. This recognition will be “grandfathered” to include those who have retired in the last 10 years.

These special keepsakes will be awarded on a yearly basis, as tokens of appreciation for long-term contributions and will enable fellow members to recognize individual’s long-term dedication to the industry. Plans are currently underway to create a digital media wall at the Board office, which will serve to spotlight and commemorate members who have made a lasting impact, contributing to the advancement of the industry and the Board.

These initiatives, supported by the Board of Directors, have been undertaken by the Retirement Working Group who oversees the due recognition of long-term members. This working group tirelessly volunteers their time and resources, and includes Linda Sue Peaker, Chair, Larry Anderson, Dale Barker, and Jeff Chadha, all of whom believe passionately in the importance of recognizing and applauding the contributions of long-term members.

The next 25-year celebration is set to take place on May 22, 2024.
