The Fraser Valley Realtors Charitable Foundation (FVRCF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Christiane Hodson as the Foundation’s inaugural Executive Director.
Christiane (Chris) will lead the newly created FVRCF, one of the largest charitable foundations in the Fraser Valley and one of the largest in the real estate sector in Canada, as it embarks on its mission to improve the lives of vulnerable youth in the Fraser Valley.
By fostering community relationships and working with multiple stakeholders, partners, volunteers, and donors, Chris will administer the Foundation’s fundraising and granting programs while promoting the visibility of the FVRCF.
“Following a robust and comprehensive search, the Board of the FVRCF is extremely pleased to have Chris help us make a significant impact in the communities in the Fraser Valley,” said John Barbisan, Chair of the FVRCF Board. “Chris’ extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector extending well over 20 years where she has raised tens of millions of dollars, is exactly what we were looking for as we launch the FVRCF.”
A consummate professional with a passion for community service and meaningful volunteer engagement, Chris has held a CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) professional designation since 2005. With a Master of Arts in Philanthropy and Development – one of only a handful of Canadian fundraisers with such a designation – Chris has helped many organizations achieve success in the areas of Fundraising, Board and Volunteer Management, and Non-Profit Management.
“I am deeply honoured to be given this incredible opportunity to work with REALTORS® in making a difference in the communities of the Fraser Valley. In my experience, Realtors have always been some of my best volunteers and donors.” said Chris Hodson. “I was moved, yet not surprised, to learn that the FVRCF was created through the remarkable generosity and foresight of Fraser Valley Realtors. I knew this was an organization I wanted to be a part of.”
Chris comes to FVRCF from Southridge School in South Surrey, where she was Director of Advancement since 2012. Before that, Chris held leading positions with the University of the Fraser Valley, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and the University of Manitoba.
FVRCF’s vision is to ensure the Fraser Valley is a safe and inspiring place where marginalized and vulnerable youth have safe, healthy, and stable places to live, learn and work. The Foundation will announce significant granting opportunities for aligned Fraser Valley charities later this year.
