The Fraser Valley Real Estate Board held the final session of its 2025–2026 Town Hall series on Thursday, January 29, bringing members together in Abbotsford and online for a morning of updates and open dialogue with Board leadership.
Finance Committee Chair Rob Christensen reported a 2025 budget deficit of $429,000, an improvement from earlier projections, reflecting continued economic pressures affecting sales activity, listing fees, and investment income.
Members also received updates on several key initiatives, including the Board’s newly launched public website, plans for the return of Education Week in 2026, and the continued rollout and enhancement of CLARA, the FVREB Cognitive Learning Artificial REALTOR® Assistant. Members were encouraged to continue using CLARA, as the tool will evolve and improve through ongoing member interaction.
Board Officers also addressed changes to this year’s Medallion Gala, explaining that adjustments were made in response to financial considerations during a challenging fiscal year. Members were thanked for their feedback, which continues to inform Board decision-making.
As with previous sessions, a significant portion of the Town Hall was dedicated to answering members’ questions, with discussion focusing on governance, Board budgets and expenditures, and the availability of meeting minutes.
With the Town Hall series now concluded, the Board thanks members for their engagement and participation over the past several months, and now turns its attention to preparations for the upcoming AGM on March 12.
