As you will recall, it was announced on October 16, 2020 that the boards of directors of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) and Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB) formed a Joint Collaboration Steering Group to explore the viability of a potential amalgamation between the two organizations.
After several meetings and exchanges between the two Boards’ representatives, it has been determined that amalgamation will, at least for the immediate future, not be pursued. Correspondingly, the decision has been made to retire the Joint Collaboration Steering Group.
Please know that the parties entered discussions and explored numerous considerations in good faith and that the parties have consistently practiced a cooperative and collegial spirit. And while amalgamation discussions have been halted, the parties expect to maintain their long-standing harmonious ties and to continue to work collaboratively in the interests of their respective members and the industry.
We take this opportunity to thank those who reached out to us over recent months in relation to this matter and assure you that your feedback has been considered in our proceedings.
Importantly, please be assured also that funds have not been committed to this undertaking.
Thanking the members of the Joint Collaboration Steering Group and other varied participants to the exercise, we appreciate the goodwill extended and the personal efforts invested.
Sincerely,
Chris Shields FVREB President |
