Fraser Valley REALTORS® Neelam Tiwari and Carolyn Carson attended the Abbotsford Police Foundation’s 5th annual fundraising event “Breakfast with the Chief – Crime is Toast” on Wednesday, October 23. The well-attended event raises funds to support the programs and projects of the Abbotsford Police community. Neelam and Carolyn were there to represent the Board’s Realty Watch program.
Neelam says, “I really enjoyed the experience of meeting Chief Constable Mike Serr of the Abbotsford Police Department and learning how the different departments work together to ensure a safer community.”
Chief Constable Serr answered questions and addressed the prevention and reduction efforts of his fellow officers towards gang violence. The Abbotsford Police has a “four pillar” approach to preventing gang violence – suppression, prevention, intervention and community engagement. On road safety, they’re trying to target the most dangerous offenders on the road – distracted drivers, excessive speeders and drivers who run red lights or speed through school zones.
There was a great turnout at the almost sold out event, which helped to raise funds towards the purchase of a police training simulator.
The Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and its members were thanked for the support they have been giving to the Abbotsford Police Department through our Realty Watch program.
Thank you Neelam and Carolyn for representing the Board!
