Fraser Valley and Greater Vancouver real estate boards donate $20,000 to support flood relief

Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver donated $20,000 to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the victims of the recent floods that have devastated BC communities.

Each Board contributed $10,000 to this donation on behalf of their respective memberships.

“We are grateful to all who have given of their time, resources, and energy; from the first responders and the emergency crews, to the ordinary heroes who stepped up without being asked – because it is simply the right thing to do,” said Baldev Gill, CEO. “We are proud of the selflessness of our Realtor members who answered the call and continue to do so, helping to rebuild vibrant communities.”

This natural disaster forced nearly 18,000 citizens of British Columbia to be evacuated from their homes. Recovery and relief efforts are ongoing and there is more work to be done.

Support the Canadian Red Cross through our REALTORS® Care Blanket Drive

Last week, we adapted our 2021 REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive to direct all financial donations to the Canadian Red Cross British Columbia Floods and Extreme Weather Appeal, extending the financial drive to November 29, 2021.

Help us reach our collective goal of $100,000! Members are invited to contribute to the appeal here. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations of $5 or more.
