Course: Selling Tenant Occupied Properties

Thursday, October 2
9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
FVREB Theatre | 6 PDP Accredited Hours
Instructor: Richard Collins

Listing and selling a tenant-occupied property can be complex. Understanding how to act within the bounds of your license when it comes to selling tenant-occupied properties is essential.

In Selling Tenant-Occupied Properties, you will work through the listing, showing, and selling process for residential tenanted properties, and leave with an understanding of the difference between a trading service license and a rental property management license.

This course will cover the legal requirements for showing properties, the correct standard Contract of Purchase and Sale tenancy clauses, and the correct procedure and timelines for giving notice to a tenant.

By the end of this course, you will understand and be able to identify the risks surrounding:

  • Possession dates,
  • A tenant’s right to quiet enjoyment versus the owner’s right to access,
  • An owner/landlord giving notice to access or sell a unit and not following through.

This course also reminds you of how the Real Estate Services Act and the Residential Tenancy Act dictate your actions and responsibilities. Don’t miss out on this must-have course!
