The Fraser Valley Real Estate Board hosted the second session of the 2025-2026 Town Hall series on Thursday, October 30, with more than 100 people in attendance in-person and online.
The morning began with presentations from Board Chair, Tore Jacobsen, Chair-elect, Ishaq Ismail, and Vice Chair, Rob Christensen, who each reviewed progress on key initiatives including the PacificWest Conference, PAC Days, and a recent donation to Khalsa Aid Canada to support flood relief efforts in Panjab Province.
A key highlight from the morning included a demonstration of FVREB’s new AI tool, CLARA (Cognitive Learning Artificial REALTOR Assistant). With this intelligent support assistant built exclusively for members, FVREB is among the first movers in our sector with AI applications. CLARA will be launched to members in mid-November.
Finance Committee Chair, Rob Christensen, reported a projected 2025 budget deficit of $591,000 reflecting the impact of ongoing economic challenges on sales activity, listing fees and investment income.
Board Officers dedicated much of the Town Hall to answering members’ questions, with discussions covering a wide range of topics including governance, budgets, expenditures and risk management, education as well as professional conduct and member engagement. Board Chair Tore Jacobsen advised members of a third-party review of the Professional Conduct Committee currently underway.
The next Town Hall will be held on Monday, November 17 in Langley and January 29, 2026 in Abbotsford.
