Charting the Future: FVREB’s 2025–2027 Strategic Plan

Within weeks of this year’s AGM, the newly minted Board of Directors gathered during a productive two-day session to craft the Board’s new Strategic Plan. The plan reflects a new chapter and trajectory for the Fraser Valley Board, driven by a stronger focus on serving member needs, engaged leadership, and a commitment to evolving our profession for the future.

The plan was introduced to members at a Town Hall event on Monday, June 16 by Chair, Tore Jacobsen, Chair-elect Ishaq Ismail, and Vice-chair Rob Christensen. At the heart of the new plan is a refreshed mission and vision, grounded in trust, innovation, and professionalism:

Mission: To empower REALTORS® through tools, education, and advocacy that uphold professional standards, strengthen public trust, and ensure an ethical, innovative, and sustainable real estate industry.

Vision: Trusted and engaged REALTORS®, valued for their professionalism, respected by the communities they serve, and supported by a resilient, forward-thinking association.

Bringing the plan to life are six strategic priorities, each reinforcing the others:

  1. Improve Membership Experience
    • Enhancing trust, engagement, and service delivery.
  2. Evolve Governance
    • Modernizing Board culture, policies, and bylaws.
  3. Be Industry Leaders
    • Driving innovation, embracing technology, and leading collaboration.
  4. Promote Professionalism
    • Elevating the REALTOR® brand and ethical standards.
  5. Ensure Fiscal Responsibility
    • Strengthening resilience and financial sustainability.

All supported and driven by

  1. Enhance Communication
    • Fostering dynamic, two-way dialogue through modern platforms.

“The team had a number of pointed goals in mind as the plan took shape,” says Tore. “All driven by the aim for greater member satisfaction with services and communications from the Board. We need to take a broad view across our entire organization, from how we build and deliver FVREB-grown education opportunities, to how we help raise the bar on professionalism, to how we manage our governance and professional conduct processes.”

The key to it all is staying engaged, says Tore. “We need more opportunities to hear from members about issues impacting their livelihoods and events like the Town Hall are critical to maintaining that dialogue. At the same time, we need to support one another—members and Board alike—especially as the sector evolves and that means celebrating our wins and holding ourselves accountable when necessary.”

The full plan will be available on FVREB Connect shortly. In the meantime, members can hear Board officers elaborate on the plan and priorities in this video.
