No one wants an unethical REALTOR®

If you’ve been paying attention to the media these days (and, let’s face it, even if you haven’t), you’ve seen that REALTORS® are getting a bad rap in the news.

In addition to the work we are doing through the media directly, your Board of Directors approved a move to address this by running an advertisement in the local Fraser Valley papers.

Download the brochure: To accompany the ad, we’ve produced a two-page brochure that promotes the advantages of working with a REALTOR®, which you can share with your clients. Visitors to our public website will also be able to download it to learn more.

We put a Fraser Valley twist to the saying “one bad apple doesn’t spoil the whole basket” by putting one unripened strawberry among a batch of perfect strawberries in the advertisement.

The words, aimed at the consumer, are bold: You don’t want an unethical REALTOR®. Neither do we.

We wanted to get to the heart of the matter, which is that professional Fraser Valley REALTORS® are just as disappointed with bad business practices as the general public. And that the vast majority of our members are competent, professional, honest and work hard for their clients.

As always, we welcome your feedback about the ad and the message it sends to consumers. Feel free to connect with any of your Board of Directors, or send a note to: communications@fvreb.bc.ca.

The ad will run twice, this weekend and next week (exact dates depend on the newspaper) in the: Abbotsford News, Peach Arch News, Langley Advance, Langley Times, Mission City Record, Surrey/North Delta Leader and Surrey/North Delta Now editions. Watch for shareable social media content with the same imagery and messaging on our Facebook and Twitter channels.
