We know that many members are feeling impatient and anxious to find out more detail about what they will be required to do in their day to day business once the new Rules come into effect on June 15. Fortunately, most of what you need to know is already available.
So if you have been wondering about specifics and what to expect, there is plenty of good, clear information on the Council’s website where you will find detailed answers to a range of important questions concerning:
• Disclosure of Representation in Trading Services and Risks to Unrepresented Parties
• Open houses, phone calls
• Double ending
• Broker teams
• The status of existing agreements prior to June 15
• Disclosure to Sellers of Expected Remuneration
• Restriction on Dual Agency in Trading Services
• Dual Agency in Under-served Remote Locations
Council is close to releasing a new course through UBC Sauder School which will be designed to assist Realtors to understand and follow the new Rules. Licensees will be sent the details when they are available, which is expected by May 15th. The forms are not yet ready for distribution but will be soon. In the meantime, check out this Information for Real Estate Licensees. The page also has a place where you can submit a question anonymously.
Change is never easy, but with the support of our teams, the Boards and our associations, we’ll figure it all out.
