After 43 years of selfless service to the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, Denise Harris, Director of Membership & Education is hanging up her FVREB badge. She leaves an undeniable legacy of service excellence, and a lifetime of contributions that will continue to benefit members, the Board, and the industry for some time.
How do you get to reach 43 years anywhere, in this day and age? Well, it helps if you start early! Denise joined the Board right out of high school, taking on a variety of roles over the years. Throughout her decades with the Board, she built a solid reputation among members as a true professional with a huge heart, a spirit of fun and sincere care for others. It also helps if you’re able to add value to your cause, which Denise did every day of her long career.
As the driving force behind the FVREB Conference & Trade Show, which has been running for nearly 30 years, Denise led the charge to build one of the Board’s premier franchises, welcoming some of the biggest influencers and motivators in the industry, including Rick Hansen and Chris Hadfield, among others.
Denise has seen the growth of FVREB membership from 3,600, when she first took over Membership & Education to its highest levels in history, with numbers nearing a remarkable 5,000 strong. Under her leadership, the M&E team has delivered top-notch service and professional development programs to help REALTORS® succeed in their careers, most recently reintroducing a hybrid learning model.
Her dedication and commitment to excellence have left an indelible mark on the people whose lives she touched, which includes practically everyone: her team, FVREB members and Board staff. She is fondly known by those who worked closely with her as a kind-hearted, beautiful person, both inside and out, and as someone who radiates a can-do attitude in every circumstance. It’s no wonder at all that Denise will be sorely missed! We are grateful for all the memories and the impact she has made on all who know her.
A proud grandmother, Denise looks forward to starting a whole new chapter, setting her sights on family and leisure time, including taking the summer off, and planting a garden. As for her more immediate plans, she’ll take a long-awaited trip to Isla Mujeres, in Mexico, with her husband, Brad.
