Challenges with WEBForms® 2019 and communications with CREA

eMemo sent to all members on January 30, 2020

This eMemo is to provide you with an update regarding CREA WEBForms® 2019; the concerns about the new platform’s issues and bugs; and our Board’s (and others’) communications to CREA.

First, I want to thank all members who are trying their best to adapt and learn CREA’s new product now operating on Lone Wolf’s transaction management system, TransactionDesk; and, especially acknowledge those who have taken the time to contact our FVREB Helpdesk.

Where do your suggestions and complaints go?

Our IT staff log every call and email and share the information with CREA and Lone Wolf. Your input is invaluable. It is the foundation for our Board’s communications to senior CREA management detailing what’s not working, the implications to your businesses and why these issues need immediate resolution.

You are not alone. CREA is receiving feedback from boards across Canada with the new WEBForms® product and requests for improvement.

Our Board and REBGV have reported numerous WEBForms® 2019 issues to CREA’s senior management with the over-riding theme being regression. Based on your feedback, the new product is confusing, difficult to navigate and inferior and we’ve told them that.

Regrettably, we no longer have control over the product. We are one of 90 WEBForms® user groups – real estate boards in Canada – under CREA’s direction. CREA and Lone Wolf are responsible for the product and its performance.

As you know, CREA announced to REALTORS® across Canada over a year ago that it would be retiring its WEBForms® Legacy system at the end of 2019 to introduce a superior product. CREA WEBForms® 2019 was launched in BC last August; and in December, Upload Listing, the tool to replace ADT was introduced. In mid-December, ADT was disabled and WEBForms® Legacy was switched to read-only.

In correspondence our Board received on January 29, CREA has committed to implementing numerous software enhancements, new processes for implementing updates as well as receiving feedback from members; and, improving how it communicates changes to the platform. CREA has indicated that you will receive an update regarding improvements within the next week.

We will continue to advocate on your behalf. Please continue to contact our Helpdesk, and whenever possible, communicate directly with CREA through their Member Support Centre at 1-888-237-7945 or support@crea.ca.

An upcoming opportunity to give direct CREA feedback in person is at our sold-out 20/20 Vision Conference & Trade Show on Wednesday, February 5. Blair Armstrong, CREA WEBForms® 2019 Product Manager, will be on hand during the Trade Show (10:30 am to 5 pm) at CREA’s exhibitor booth.

Thank you for your feedback and support.
